Merry Christmas!

We had such a fun Christmas with Lauren. Her little face just lit up when she saw all the presents under the tree on Christmas morning. She loved all her toys and opening all her presents. And, for the last few weeks, her favorite word has been "tree" and she points at the Christmas tree each day. Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas too!

Does Lauren read my blog?

OK, so I swear the second after I wrote that last blog entry about walking when she wants to, Lauren just up and decided that she wants to walk more. Even though the little bugger has been sick with strep throat and a bronchial infection, she has spent the a good portion of the weekend walking. So, that leads me to believe that she can read. And, she reads this blog. So advanced that little girl is. We're so proud.

Walk when I want to!

One day when Lauren was about 11 months old, she turned and WALKED about 4 steps over to me. Just like that. Like she does it every day. Since then, at no predictable time, she's done it many more times. But, 99.9% of her day she spends crawling like a bandit. I asked the pediatrician about it and she said, "Totally normal. She either is still building her confidence, or is just way too comfortable crawling." For the very first time the other night, Lauren took a few steps in front of her daddy (every other time she has done it, it's just been with me). His proud pappa face lit up like it was the most fantastic thing he'd ever seen. But, since then, she's been straight back to speed crawling. So, is Lauren walking? When she wants to.
