Christmas 2013

It had been a while since we had gotten some photos of Lauren, so we decided Christmas was a great time. It also gave us the opportunity to grab a quick shot of Lauren and me while I was pregnant. Lauren had JUST turned 5 in these pictures, and I am 6 months pregnant. We loved the way all these shots turned out!

Girl Power!

One of Lauren's favorite phrases is, "Girl Power." When she found out that we were having a girl, it was even more of an excuse to say it. She loves to remind her daddy how many girls there are in the house, and that he will always be outnumbered. For Halloween, she insisted that we (including my sister), all be female superheroes. I think she said, "Girl Power," about a hundred times this day!

It's a girl!

Technology is crazy, and we were able to find out that we were pregnant with a baby GIRL through a blood test performed at 11 weeks. I got a phone call and received the news, and then was left wondering how I was going to tell Scott and Lauren. I decided to bake cupcakes and fill the insides with pink icing for girl, or blue icing for boy. I had them each guess before taking a bite. Lauren guessed "girl," and Scott guessed "boy." We were so excited that Lauren was going to have a sister! So fun!

Scott and I CRACKED up when we saw this artwork that Lauren did for school when she started pre-K. It was also how a lot of folks (many of our friends, and all of her friends) found out that we were pregnant. This artwork is definitely going in the keepsake box!

In my belly!

This is my favorite sonogram from being pregnant with baby girl #2. The way that her hand is raised, it looked like she was waving at us! What made it extra special was that Lauren went to this appointment with me and she thought FOR SURE that her baby sister was waving directly at her. So cute.
