Pickin' berries

There's a great little farm not too far from us where you can pick berries, eat homemade ice cream, pet goats, horses, and ponies and picnic in the sun. We went there today and Lauren had a blast! She loved petting and feeding all the animals and then marching through the rows of bushes to pick blackberries. Such a fun day!

Updated stats

We just had a trip to the pediatrician and Lauren measured in at 28lbs 8oz, and 31" in height. Overall, she's developmentally at or above where she should be on all measures. The only bummer was that turns out she has a cold and an ear infection. I guess we should consider ourselves lucky that we have gone this long without ever having an ear infection.

OK, since this is really why you are here, here's the obligatory Lauren picture!
(Note: Lauren has started to really like purses, hats, and bags. Here she is posing with a new Dora The Explorer purse from her G & G Harrell. Who is this big girl???)

18 months old

I have a one-and-a-half-year-old little girl today. Wow. Wow. Wow. Here's what Miss Lauren is up to these days:

- She runs everywhere, climbs small steps without holding on, climbs in and out of the tub, climbs ladders, on to the couch, on to the bed...you name it. And, just the other night, I caught her lifting up her little leg to climb over the edge of the crib. Yikes!
- For the past month she has been going to a little gymnastics class once a week and she adores it. She jumps on trampolines, hangs her little arms from trapeze rings, and slides down big slides by herself.
- She loves to sing and dance and will do so on command!
- She is starting to string 2-word sentences together and has increased her vocabulary quite a bit (admittedly, I don't completely "speak Lauren" so I don't always understand what she's saying)
- She's still very social and loves saying "hi" to everyone when we are out shopping or doing an activity
- Current loves: hats, books, glasses, cups with straws, pillows, stuffed animals, real animals (especially dogs), pickles, bananas, ice, & Dora the Explorer

Shake it

Lauren's Aunt Mindy and Uncle Jason recently got her a little dancing and singing frog. We all thought how hysterical it was that Lauren actually danced exactly like the frog does. Here she is shaking it with Mr. Frog.
Note: Sorry for the quality of this video. Light was low and I shot it on my phone!
